Follow these guidelines to ensure your products perform best for YouTube Shopping.
1. Products do not meet Google's requirements
Products submitted to GMC may not be displayed on YouTube if they do not comply with Google policies, including:
Image standards (refer point 4 below).
Restricted categories (refer point 5 below).
Product submissions are subject to approval by Google.
For more information, you may check here.
2. Counterfeit or suspended account
Google has a strict moderation mechanism, especially when it comes to counterfeit goods.
If Google determines that a store has many products marked as “counterfeit,” the entire account may be disapproved. This causes all products in the store to be disapproved on GMC.
For more information, you may check here.
3. Substandard images
Google requires product images to:
Not contain text such as store logos, promotional banners.
Have a simple, clear background and don't use overly edited images.
For example, images with the words "20% Off" or large brand logos on the product are often rejected.
For more information, you may check here.
4. Products in the prohibited category
Some product categories are not allowed to be promoted on Google, such as:
Alcoholic beverages
Gambling related content
Health Care Related Content: Non-prescription Drugs, Prescription Drugs, Unapproved Pharmaceuticals and Dietary Supplements, Products Related to Pregnancy and Fertility
Foods and drinks high in salt, sugar, and fat
This list is non-exhaustive.
To optimize product display on YouTube:
When uploading product images on your Shopee listings, choose attractive and high quality products with standard images.
Avoid restricted categories and make sure you don't violate Google policies.
Check products carefully before posting, especially image standards and description information.
