How to report potential/suspected fraudulent or corrupt behavior observed related to Shopee

At Shopee, we value your trust, confidence, and safety as we conduct business transparently.

We have created this dedicated channel to provide an avenue for you to report incidents or suspicious fraudulent or corrupt behavior within Shopee or relating to Shopee’s employees in good faith, without fear of retaliation, and for appropriate investigation and action.

To ensure partiality, the Internal Compliance Team, an independent team, will be responsible for actioning on reports of potential internal fraud and corruption offenses. 

The following principles will be observed with any concerns raised in good faith:

  1. Confidentiality: All reports made, along with the identities of the whistleblowers, will be kept confidential to the extent allowed by laws and needs of the investigation.

  2. Non-Retaliation: We adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards unlawful retaliation against complainants.

 

Here are examples of reportable incidents:

Corruption or Bribery

  • Unauthorized payment requests – e.g., Shopee employees requesting commission payments to their personal bank accounts.

  • Fictitious service payments e.g., Shopee employees requesting payments for enrollment in Shopee Affiliate or Livestream programs.

  • Bribes for preferential treatment – e.g., Shopee employees demanding money or gifts to expedite services or boost profiles on the Affiliate and Livestream platforms.

Fraudulent Behavior

  • Collusion for personal benefit e.g., KOLs offering gifts to Shopee employees in exchange for preferential treatment.

  • Omission or misrepresentation of information e.g., deliberately providing false information for unfair or unlawful gain.

 

Reporting of Concerns


We highly encourage you to file a report via the online reporting tool if you observe any potential or suspected fraudulent or corrupt actions.

  • Please provide clear and complete information with sufficient proof (e.g., documents, screenshots, etc.) 

  • A preliminary assessment will be performed upon receipt of your report. 

  • An investigation will only be conducted when there is credible and sufficient information. 

  • You are encouraged to identify yourself when making the report so that further information can be asked if necessary. Rest assured, all information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
