1. Violence and Extremism

Violent Action

We take a firm position not to allow violence on or off Shopee Video. We do not allow anyone to use our platform to threaten or incite violence or promote harmful individuals or organizations. If there is a threat to public safety or an account is used to promote or incorporate violence off-platform, we may suspend or block the account. Once we have ascertained, we have the full right to report the threat to the relevant legal authority. To effectively protect our community, we may consider the information available on other platforms and offline to identify individuals and organizations involved in violent and extremist acts on our platforms.

We consider incitement to violence as advocating, directing, or encouraging others to commit violence. We do not allow threats of violence or incitement to violence on our platform that could result in serious physical injury.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Contains statements intended to cause physical injury to individuals or groups.

• Encourages others to commit or support physical violence.

• Includes conditional or aspirational statements that promote violence.

• Calls for bringing weapons to intimidate or threaten individuals or groups with violence.

• Provides instructions on creating or using weapons to incite violence.

Physical and Psychological Danger of Minors

Behaviors that put minors at risk for physical or psychological harm, including physical abuse, neglect, harm, or psychological belittling. We remove such content from our platform.

Do not display, upload, transmit, or distribute content that:

• Depicts or promotes physical abuse, neglect, or harm to minors, or minimizes the psychological impact on them.

• Depicts or promotes survival techniques without warning about the associated dangers of replicating these techniques.

Horrible Images 

Shopee Video is a platform that values ​​creativity, not distress or violence. We do not allow content that is overly shocking, horrific, sadistic, frightening, or content that promotes or normalizes extreme violence or suffering on our platform. When there is a threat to public safety, we may suspend or block the account and, upon confirmation, we reserve the right to report it to the relevant legal authority.

Do not display, upload, transmit, or distribute content that:

• Depicting humans:

• Violence, death, or brutal and gruesome accidents

• Limbs apart, mutilated, charred, or burned

• Blood that is focused on open wounds or injuries

• Violence and physical fights, or torture

• Describing animal:

• slaughter or death of the animal in a way that does not naturally occur

• Limbs apart, mutilated, charred, or burned

• Cruelty to animals and the content covered in blood

Extremism and Dangerous Organizations

We do not permit harmful individuals or organizations on our platform to promote or engage in violence. This includes the removal of mass murderers, serial killers, rapists, hate groups, criminal organizations, terrorist organizations, and stateless armed groups that explicitly target civilians.

1. Terrorist organizations

Terrorists and terrorist organizations are stateless actors who clearly threaten violence, violence, and/or commit serious crimes (such as crimes against humanity) against civilians to achieve political, religious, ethnic, or ideological goals.

2. Hate organizations

Hate organizations refer to individuals and organizations that attack others based on protected characteristics, such as race, ethnicity, country of origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or immigration status. We consider attacks to include acts that incite violence or hatred, dehumanize individuals or groups, or adhere to hateful ideologies.

3. Criminal organizations

A criminal organization is a transnational, national, or local group involved in serious crimes, including brutal crimes (e.g. murder, rape, robbery, assault), trafficking (e.g. humans, organs, drugs, weapons), kidnapping, financial crimes (e.g. extortion), blackmail (by threat, fraud, money laundering), or cybercrime.

Do not display, upload, transmit, or distribute content that:

• Praises, promotes, glorifies, or supports dangerous individuals or organizations.

• Encourages participation in or attempts to recruit individuals into dangerous organizations.

• Contains names, symbols, logos, flags, slogans, uniforms, illustrations, portraits, songs, music, lyrics, or other representations intended to reflect dangerous individuals or organizations.

2. Sexual and Nudity

Adult Nudity

Nudity and sexual activity include content that overtly exposes breasts, genitals, anus, or buttocks, or behavior that mimics, implies, or displays sexual acts. We do not allow the depiction, including digitally created or manipulated content, of nudity or sexual activity. We are wary of content that is offensive or culturally inappropriate in certain regions, or content that may not be suitable for users of all ages.

Do not display, upload, transmit, or distribute:

• Content displaying nudity, mature adults including naked women or men, topless women, women or men not wearing bottoms, women wearing sexy or revealing lingerie, open cleavage or exposed lower/side breasts, and women wearing only underwear [Adult Nudity]

• Content that explicitly or implicitly portrays sexual activity, including sexual penetration and sex without penetration, oral sex, erotic kissing, masturbation using the hands or other methods, or obscene sounds [Sexual intercourse or other sexual acts]

• Content depicting sexual arousal or sexual stimulation such as a sexual clip, or even sexual video backgrounds [Sexual cues]

• Content depicting sexual interest in other organs besides the sexual organs

• Content that depicts the human genitals, nipples, or areola of women, the area of the genitals, or exposed buttocks [Enlargement or close-ups of sensitive areas]

• Content that includes sexual language, explicitly referring to sexual gratification

• Content that explicitly involves sex toys such as sex toys shaped like phalluses (e.g. dildos), vibrators, Butt Plug (with all attachments), and Vagina impersonator tubes for men use masturbation. [Sex toy]

• Content depicting anime pornography includes human or non-human sexual acts and penetrative or non-penetrating sexual acts. [Anime Porn]

• Content that explicitly or implicitly shows ads of illegal sex including sex work in the information banner and all forms of link [Illegal sex ads]

Kids Nudity

Nudity and sexual activity involving minors includes content that overtly exposes the breasts, genitals, anus, or buttocks, or behavior that mimics, implies, or displays sexual behavior involving minors. We do not allow the depiction, including digitally created or manipulated content, nudity, or sexual activity.

Do not display, upload, transmit, or distribute content that:

• Depicting or implying sexual activity of minors, including sexual penetration and sex without penetration, oral sex, or intimate kissing

• Depicting sexual arousal or sexual stimulation involving children under age

• Depicting sexual interest in other organs besides the sexual organs involving minors

• Depicts the human genitals, nipples, or areola of women, the area of the genitals or buttocks of minors are exposed

• Includes sexual language, explicitly depicting or describing minors

• Depicting minors which include sexually explicit song lyrics

• With sexually explicit dance moves by minors, including wagging buttocks and breasts (TWERKING), the movement of penetration toward the pelvic area or groin or breast, stroking yourself or others

• Shows minors undressing

• Shows minors in skimpy outfits that are not relevant to the site

• Comments, emoji, text, or other graphics that are sexualized and used to veil or imply the nudity or sexual activity of minors

Sexual Exploitation of Minors

Sexual exploitation of minors is the abuse of a position of power or trust for sexual purposes, including obtaining financial, social, sexual, or political advantage from the exploitation of minors. Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM) is defined as visual depictions of nudity or sexually explicit behavior, taken by predatory adults, peers, or self-made by minors. Shopee Video will take action on any content or accounts that involve sexual interaction and sexual advances between adults and minors, or between minors.

Do not display, upload, transmit, or distribute content that:

• Shares, re-shares, offers to trade or sell, or directs users outside the platform to obtain or distribute Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

• Involves minors in sexual contexts or exploits minors sexually (e.g., through features like duets).

• Depicts, promotes, or encourages images of child abuse, including nudity or sexual activity involving minors.

• Normalizes or promotes pedophilia or sexual abuse of minors.

• Victimizes or exploits minors as victims of abuse through redistribution or reenactment of abuse.

Inappropriate grooming behavior

Inappropriate grooming behavior occurs when an adult establishes an emotional connection with a minor in order to gain their trust for the purpose of future or current sexual contact, sexual harassment, sex trafficking, or other sexual exploitation. This behavior includes: flattery, soliciting contact on and off the platform, soliciting personal information, soliciting child sexual abuse material, making sexual advances or comments, and giving gifts. We do not allow inappropriate grooming behavior.

Do not display, upload, transmit, or distribute content that:

• Depicts flirting or inappropriate behavior toward minors.

• Promotes, normalizes, or exalts inappropriate grooming behavior.

• Requests contact or sexual interactions between minors and adults or among minors with a significant age difference.

• Displays or offers nudity to minors.

• Requests nude or sexual contact through extortion or coercion.

Sexual exploitation

Sexual exploitation is any actual or attempted abuse of a position of vulnerability, power, or trust for sexual purposes, including, obtaining financial, social, or political advantage from the sexual exploitation of another person. We do not allow sexually exploitative content.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Depicts, solicits, promotes, normalizes, or echoes exploitation or abuse, including non-consensual sexual acts, rape, or sexual harassment.

• Depicts, solicits, promotes, normalizes, or echoes the distribution of intimate photos without consent, including unauthorized images of sexual intercourse.

• Depicts, promotes, or normalizes sexual violence.

• Solicits sexual advances, including offers or requests for sexual partners, chat, explicit photos, sexual services, or sex cam content.

3. Dangerous Behavior

Suicide

We remove content featuring suicide, suicidal tendencies, or content that encourages participation in other self-injurious behavior. We also remove content that depicts attempted suicide or content that shows a person engaging in, or intending to engage in, behavior that is likely to lead to death itself. We prohibit any form of content that promotes or normalizes suicide, provides instructions for suicide, or posts that depict suicide as heroic or honorable.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Provides instructions for suicide.

• Depicts, promotes, normalizes, or echoes suicide.

• Involves suicide games, challenges, or hoaxes related to suicide.

Self-injury and eating disorders

To prevent the normalization or encouragement of self-injurious behavior, we do not allow images depicting such behavior, regardless of the user's intentions. We remove any content that promotes or normalizes actions that could lead to self-inflicted harm. Additionally, content promoting unhealthy eating habits that may cause serious health issues is prohibited on this platform.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Depicts, promotes, normalizes, or echoes self-harm or eating disorders.

• Provides instructions on how to engage in self-harm or develop eating disorders.

• Involves games, challenges, or hoaxes related to self-harm or eating disorders.

• Depicts, promotes, normalizes, or echoes eating disorders or dangerous weight loss behaviors associated with other eating disorders.

Dangerous Action

We define risky activities or other dangerous behavior as actions that are carried out in an unprofessional or unskilled context and do not comply with safety safeguards that could cause serious injury or death to the user or the public. We don't allow content that depicts, promotes, normalizes, or otherwise promotes such behavior, including amateur displays of bravery or dangerous challenges.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Depicts the improper use of tools, vehicles, or dangerous objects.

• Depicts or promotes the ingestion of harmful or non-consumable substances.

• Involves games, challenges, or dangerous acts that may lead to injury.

Dangerous activities by minors

Dangerous activities by minors include possession or use of substances prohibited for minors, abuse of legal substances, involvement in illegal activities, participation in activities, physical challenges, or other challenges that may threaten the well-being of minors. We remove such content from our platform.

Do not display, upload, transmit, or distribute content that:

• Suggests, depicts, describes, imitates, or promotes the possession or consumption of alcohol, tobacco, or drugs by minors.

• Provides instructions targeting minors for buying, selling, or trading alcohol, tobacco, or other regulated substances.

• Depicts or promotes activities harmful to minors, including dangerous physical challenges, solicitation, or risky displays of courage.

4. Illegal Goods and Trade

We strive to ensure that Shopee Video prohibits activities that violate laws and regulations. We ban the regulated trade, sale, promotion, and use of certain goods, as well as the depiction, promotion, or facilitation of criminal activities, including human exploitation. Content may be removed if it relates to a regulated or illegal activity or item in most regions or worldwide, even if the activity or item is considered legal in the jurisdiction where it was uploaded.

Criminal activity

Criminal activity encompasses a broad spectrum of acts punishable by law, including theft, assault, human exploitation, counterfeiting, and other harmful behaviors. To prevent these behaviors from being normalized or imitated, we remove content that promotes criminal activity.

Do not display, upload, transmit, or distribute content that:

• Depicts or promotes physical harm, such as assault or kidnapping.

• Endangers the safety of others, including harmful jokes.

• Depicts or promotes sexual exploitation, including human trafficking, labor exploitation, bondage, domestic servitude, or prostitution.

• Depicts or promotes poaching or illegal wildlife trade.

• Offers to buy, sell, trade, or solicit counterfeit or unlawfully obtained goods.

• Provides instructions for engaging in criminal activities.

Weapon

We do not allow the depiction, promotion, or trade-in of firearms, ammunition, firearm accessories, or explosive weapons. We also prohibit instructions on how to manufacture such weapons. Content as part of a museum collection, carried by police officers, in military parades, or used in a safe and controlled environment such as a shooting range may be permitted.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Displays firearms, firearm accessories, ammunition, or explosive weapons.

• Offers to buy, sell, trade, or demand firearms, accessories, ammunition, explosive weapons, or instructions for producing such items.

Cigarette

We do not allow the depiction, promotion, or trade-in of cigarettes, cigars, tobacco, and the like. We also prohibit instructions on how to manufacture or use these products.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Promotes cigarettes, cigars, snuff, and the like.

Drugs, regulated substances, alcohol, and tobacco

We do not allow the depiction, promotion, or trafficking of drugs or other regulated substances. Trading of tobacco and alcoholic products is also prohibited on this platform.

Do not display, upload, transmit, or distribute content that:

• Depicts or promotes illegal drugs, drug use, or encourages the production, use, or trafficking of regulated substances.

• Offers to buy, sell, trade, or request drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products, including vape products.

• Provides information on purchasing illegal or regulated substances.

• Depicts or promotes the manufacture of illegal alcohol.

• Depicts or promotes the misuse of legal substances or provides instructions for making homemade substances for intoxication.

• Contains text or mentions the names of illegal drugs (e.g., marijuana, ecstasy, MDMA, cocaine).

Gambling

We do not allow content that promotes gambling services, or which could be deemed to advertise casinos, sports betting, or other commercial gambling activities.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Promotes casinos, sports betting, poker, lotteries, gambling-related software or applications, or other gambling services.

• Relates to gambling matters, including books, websites, or online uploads.

Scams and Schemes

We do not allow anyone to exploit our platform to take advantage of users' trust and incur financial or personal losses. We remove content that deceives others for financial or personal gain that is unlawful, including schemes to deceive others or steal assets.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Depicts or promotes phishing.

• Depicts or promotes Ponzi schemes, multi-level marketing, or pyramid schemes.

• Depicts or promotes investment schemes promising high returns, fixed betting, or other types of scams.

5. Harassment and Bullying

We believe in and are committed to building an inclusive community where each individual can express himself/herself without fear of harassment. We do not tolerate when members of our community are humiliated, bullied, or harassed. Violent content or behavior can cause severe psychological distress and will be removed from our platform. 

Violent Behavior

We remove all expressions of violence, including threats or disparaging statements intended to ridicule, insult, humiliate, intimidate, or harm others. This prohibition also applies to the use of Shopee Video features. While expressions related to public interest and critical comments on public figures may be permitted, serious violent behavior against public figures is strictly prohibited.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Insults or belittles individuals based on attributes such as intelligence, appearance, personality, style, or hygiene.

• Advocates coordinated abuse or harassment.

• Underestimates the severity of violence.

• Uses Shopee Video features to denigrate others.

• Depicts intentional harm or intimidation, including cyberstalking or trolling.

• Anticipates death, serious illness, or significant injury to any person or public figure.

Sexual harassment

Sexual harassment involves unwanted or inappropriate sexual behavior directed at another person. We do not allow content, including comments or advances, that sexually harass others, regardless of the user's intentions, as doing so can cause severe distress to the person being targeted.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Seeks unwanted sexual contact.

• Stimulates sexual activity with other users through verbal communication, text (including emojis), or app features.

• Undermines the sexual activities of others.

• Alters or transforms others' drawings to imply sexual suggestions or activities.

• Expresses or threatens to disclose an individual's personal sex life, including digital content, sexual history, or names of previous partners.

• Exposes or threatens to expose a person's sexual orientation without their consent or knowledge.

Hacking, doxxing, and extortion threats

Threatening to hack or collect information with the intent to harass or blackmail others can cause severe mental distress and other offline harm. We define doxxing as the act of collecting and publishing personal data or personally identifiable information (PII) for malicious purposes. We consider this behavior a form of abuse and do not permit it on our platform.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share content that:

• Threatens to disclose personal data or personally identifiable information (PII), including home addresses, personal email addresses, phone numbers, bank account details, social security numbers, or passport numbers.

• Contains threats of blackmail or account hacking.

• Incites or encourages others to compromise or disclose accounts, personal data, or PII belonging to others.

• Attacks or provokes negative responses toward a person's accounts, personal data, or PII. 

6. Hateful Acts

Shopee Video is a diverse and inclusive community that does not tolerate discrimination. We do not allow content that contains hate speech or involves hateful behavior, and we remove it from our platform. We suspend or block accounts involved in hate speech offenses or related to hate speech outside the Shopee Video platform.

Attacks against protected attributes

We define hate speech or behavior as content that attacks, threatens, incites violence, or dehumanizes individuals or groups based on protected attributes such as the following:

• Race 

• Ethnicity

• National origin

• Religion

• Caste 

• Sexual orientation

• Gender

• Gender identity

• Serious disease/illness

• Disability

• Immigration status

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share:

• Contents of hatred associated with a person or a group, including:

• Claiming that they are inferior physically, mentally, or morally 

• Inviting to commit or condone violence against them

• Claiming that they are criminals 

• Refer to them negatively as animals, inanimate objects, or other nonhuman entities  

• Pushing or justifying exclusion, segregation, or discrimination against them 

• Content depicting the dangers posed to the person or group based on attributes that are protected

7. Integrity and Authenticity

We believe that trust is the foundation of our community. We do not permit activities that undermine the integrity of our platform and the authenticity of our users. We remove content or accounts involving spam, fake engagement, impersonation, and misleading information that may be harmful or violate intellectual property rights.

Spam and fake engagement

Fake engagement includes any content or activity that attempts to artificially increase popularity on our platform. We prohibit any attempt to manipulate the platform to improve interaction metrics.

Misinformation

Misinformation is defined as content that is inaccurate or false. While we encourage our communities to have polite conversations about matters that are important to them, we do not allow the spread of misinformation that harms other people, our community, or the general public regardless of the intent.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share:

• Misinformation that incites hatred or prejudice

• Misinformation associated with emergencies that can cause panic

• Medical misinformation that can endanger the physical health of someone

• Content misleading members of the community about the elections or civil processes and more

• Conspiracy content that attacks specific protected groups or loads solicitation of violence, or denying the occurrence of violent or tragic events

• Digital misinformation (Synthetic Media or Media Manipulated) that misleads users by distorting the truth of the events and endangers the subject of a video, others, or society

Imitation

We do not allow accounts impersonating any other person or entity. When we confirm an impersonation report, we will ask the user to revise their profile or suspend or block the account. We allow parody, commentary, or fan accounts, as long as the user indicates a bio and in his username that he is a fan, commenter, or parody and is not affiliated with the subject of the account.

Do not: 

• Present yourself as another person or entity using the name, biographical details, or another person's profile photo with the aim of misleading others

8. Intellectual property rights violation

Copyright protects original works (e.g., music, videos) and their unique expressions, though it does not cover the underlying ideas or facts. Trademarks include words, symbols, slogans, or designs that distinguish a product or service. We encourage the creation and sharing of original content, but content that infringes on others' intellectual property rights will be removed and banned from our platform. Use of copyrighted works or trademarks in compliance with fair use or other legal exceptions, such as for commentary, criticism, parody, or reviews, does not violate our policies.

Do not display, upload, broadcast, or share:

• Content violates or infringes any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights of others

9. Platform Security

Our policies prohibit any activities that compromise the safety and reliability of Shopee's services. Specifically:

• Do not hack, bypass access restrictions, or interfere with Shopee-related websites, applications, or networks.

• Do not distribute files containing viruses, malware, or other harmful materials.

• Do not modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, or create derivative works based on Shopee, including files, tables, or documentation, or try to recreate any source code, algorithms, methods, or techniques embedded in Shopee 

• Do not use automated scripts to collect data from Shopee.
