Q: What will be the changes in my ShopeePay account?

A: As part of ShopeePay’s continuous efforts to ensure users’ account security, and in compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) regulations, existing users with non-verified (basic) ShopeePay accounts are required to submit additional information to avoid losing access to ShopeePay services. You can keep access to ShopeePay services in two ways:

  • Upload a valid ID and input your personal information, or

  • Provide additional information if an ID is unavailable.

 

Users with non-verified ShopeePay accounts will have the following monthly limits: 

  • Php 10,000 inflow limit 

  • Php 10,000 outflow limit 

  • Php 50,000 wallet balance



Q: What are these inflow, outflow, wallet limits? 

A: These are the following:

  • Inflow Limit - Cumulative amount that can be received into your ShopeePay wallet per month 

  • Outflow Limit - Cumulative amount that can be moved out of your ShopeePay wallet per month 

  • Wallet Balance - Maximum amount that can be kept in your ShopeePay wallet



Q: How can I check if my account is verified or not? 

A: Go to your ShopeePay wallet and the following statuses will show up as acting cards, right below the icons of the services: 

 

 

 

Q: What’s the difference between a non-verified and a verified account? I can still use ShopeePay for some transactions anyway.

Q: Why am I being required to provide more personal information? 

A: As part of ShopeePay’s continuous efforts to ensure users’ account security, and in compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) regulations, users are required to provide the following information to have a non-verified e-wallet account: 

 

  • Email Address

  • Place of Birth

  • Date of Birth

  • Nationality

  • Source of Funds 

  • Industry 

  • Occupation 

  • Employer Name 

  • Purpose of Opening

  • Present Address 

  • Permanent Address 

  • Gender 

  • Income
