Q: Can I select a specific payment method for each transaction?

A: For non-sequential payments, you can select the payment method to use every time you pay.


For sequential payments, you can arrange the order of your payment methods based on your preference. Go to ShopeePay Settings > Linked Services > Preferred Payment Methods.

 

Q: Why do I already see SeaBank in my payment method options?

A: If you have previously linked your SeaBank account to Shopee or ShopeePay cash-ins, it will be added automatically and be seen as a payment method option.

 

Q: My SeaBank balance was used for a subscription payment / in-app purchase. Why did this happen?

A: Starting July 1, Sequential Payments are automatically activated for all users. This happened because your SeaBank account was already linked to Shopee or ShopeePay, and you had enabled Sequential Payments in your ShopeePay settings.

 

Q: In the Preferred Payment Methods page, I noticed that SPayLater is greyed-out. What does this mean? 

A: This means that you have not enabled SPayLater as your backup payment method and won’t be used as a payment method for your subscription payments. 


To use SPayLater as a payment method, you should toggle on Allow SPayLater under ShopeePay Settings > ShopeePay Linked Services.

 

Q: My SeaBank / SPayLater is linked and enabled but I can’t use one of them for payments. What should I do?

A: Make sure you have sufficient bank balance or available credit to support the transaction. 


If you have sufficient funds, then it could mean we don’t support SPayLater for this merchant. We are continuously expanding support to allow SPayLater to be used with more merchants.

 

Q: Which payment method will be charged during my next sequential payment?

A: Payments will be deducted from the payment method based on your set payment sequence. However, if that payment method does not have sufficient balance, the transaction will be deducted from the second payment method, and so on.

 

Q: What happens if all my linked payment methods have insufficient funds for a purchase?
A: If all payment methods have insufficient balance, then payment via ShopeePay will fail.

 

Q: Can two payment methods be combined and used for one transaction?

A: Only one payment method can be used per transaction.

 

 

Q: Can I choose a different backup payment method for each sequential payment?
A: The payment method sequence is shared across your linked merchants and sequential payments.

 

 

Q: I don’t want to enable Sequential Payments and use my SeaBank for subscription and in-app purchases. How can I opt out?

A: You can view all your linked apps and choose to unlink to stop automatic deductions from your SeaBank and other payment methods in the sequence.

 

For Apple Services: Go to your device Settings /subscribed app settings > select your Name > Payment & Shipping > Edit > Remove Payment Method. You can also visit Apple Services for more details. 


For other Linked Apps: Go to Me in your ShopeePay Wallet Page > Settings > ShopeePay Linked Services > select Linked App to disable > Unlink Service

 

Q:  If I cancel my purchase, how will I receive my refund?

A: Cancellation policies can vary depending on the merchant. Any refunds will go back to the payment method you used for payment.
