What are the COD Unbox Terms and Conditions? 

 

1. The COD Unbox feature shall be available only to qualified buyers (“Qualified Buyers”) for select orders determined by Shopee from time to time in its sole and absolute discretion. You will be notified by Shopee if the COD Unbox feature is available to you after placing an order on the Shopee platform (the “Site”). 

 

2. If you are a Qualified Buyer and has received a notification in the Order Details page that the COD Unbox feature is available for your order, you or your authorized representative may open and inspect your order and return it on the spot by informing Shopee’s logistics service provider (“Logistics Service Provider”) that you will avail of the COD Unbox feature upon the Logistics Service Provider’s arrival at your designated delivery location (“Delivery Location”). If you are not at the Delivery Location at that time, Shopee and the Logistics Service Provider shall have the right to assume that the person receiving your order at the Delivery Location is your representative duly authorized to avail or waive the benefit of the COD Unbox feature and accept or reject the delivery of your order for you. For the avoidance doubt, Shopee and the Logistics Service Provider shall be under no obligation to verify if a person is your authorized representative for the purpose of availing or waiving the benefit of the COD Unbox feature and accepting or rejecting the delivery of your order.  

 

3. If you are a Qualified Buyer availing of the COD Unbox feature, you agree to the following conditions (“COD Unboxing Conditions”): 

 

(A) You will (i) open and inspect your order in front of the Logistics Service Provider, and (ii) provide your consent to the Logistics Service Provider to take a video recording while you are unboxing your order. For more information on how the video recording will be handled by Shopee as personal data, you may refer to the Shopee Privacy Policy.

 

(B) You will not open, break, or tamper with the manufacturer’s packaging, including any seal or sticker of the manufacturer. If you violate this condition or damage the order in any way during the inspection, the order will be considered successfully delivered, and you will pay for the order. Should you wish to return your order and request for a refund, however, you may do so in accordance with the Refunds and Return Policy.

 

(C) You will conduct visual inspection of the order only. You will not try or test the order. If you violate this condition, the order will also be considered successfully delivered, and you will pay for the order.  

 

If you do not agree to the COD Unboxing Conditions, please do not avail of the COD Unboxing feature. 

 

4. Upon completion of the inspection of the order through the COD Unbox feature, the Qualified Buyer may either accept the delivery of the order or reject it for any of the following reasons: (a) wrong item; (b) incomplete/missing item; (c) damaged item; or (d) change of mind.

 

5. If the delivery of an order is rejected by a Qualified Buyer following inspection through the COD Unbox feature, such order shall be considered cancelled and shall not be eligible for re-delivery. If the Qualified Buyer wishes to push through with the purchase, the Qualified Buyer must place a new order on the Site. 

 

6. Partial acceptance of an order is not allowed under the COD Unbox feature. If a Qualified Buyer wishes to accept a part only of an order with multiple items, the Qualified Buyer must do either of the following:

 

(A) reject the entire order and, if still interested to push through with the purchase, place a new order for the same items on the Site. To illustrate, if the Qualified Buyer ordered three (3) T-shirts and, upon inspection via the COD Unbox feature, discovered that one (1) of the T-Shirts is damaged or is the wrong size, the Qualified Buyer must reject the delivery of all three (3) T-shirts. If the Qualified Buyer still wants to purchase the T-shirts, he/she must place a new order on the Site; or 

 

(B) accept the entire order and file a return/refund request in accordance with the Refunds and Return Policy for the item(s) that the Qualified Buyer wants to return.  

 

7. Upon acceptance of the order, the Qualified Buyer may no longer avail of the COD Unbox feature. If the Qualified Buyer wishes to return the order, he/she must file a return/refund request in accordance with the Refunds and Return Policy. 

 

8. The COD Unbox feature is an additional service of Shopee and is subject to the Terms of Service and the other Shopee Policies. Please read this COD Unbox Terms and Conditions, the Terms of Service, and the other Shopee Policies carefully as they contain important information regarding your rights and obligations. Shopee reserves the right to change, modify, suspend, or discontinue the COD Unbox feature at any time in its sole and absolute discretion pursuant to the Terms of Service.
