There are many different kinds of online scams that may target Shopee users like you. Here are some common scams that you should watch out for:

  • Phishing: This is a fraudulent attempt to access your sensitive data such as credit card details, bank account information, and password. Typically, it asks you to click a link to a suspicious website.
  • SMS Spoofing: A phishing message disguised as one from a legitimate sender
  • Contest fraud: This is usually done through SMS or other messaging apps. It asks you to send money to an account in order for you to claim your prize.
  • Websites or social media pages impersonating Shopee: These are websites or social media pages designed to look like Shopee. They may ask you to provide personal information, financial information, or passwords.
